IFA Shield

The IFA Shield is an annual football competition organized by the Indian Football Association, the football governing body in the Indian state of West Bengal. The IFA came into existence in 1893, and was named after the association. The IFA Shield tournament was started in the same year. It is the third oldest football tournament in India, after Durand Cup and Trades Cup, and is among the oldest football competitions in the world.

CFL

Calcutta Football League

The Calcutta Football League (CFL), organized by the Indian Football Association (WB), is the oldest football league in Asia, starting in 1898. It features over 160 clubs, mostly from Kolkata, in a seven-tier system with over 8,500 players. CFL is one of the world’s oldest and India’s largest football leagues.

Indian Racing League

The Indian Racing League (formerly X1 Racing League) is an Indian auto racing championship co-founded by drivers Aditya Patel and Armaan Ebrahim. Launched in 2019 with Formula BMW cars, it faced issues, including mechanical failures and safety concerns. After pandemic delays, it returned in late 2022 with Group CN-class Wolf GB08s.

Indian Hockey League

Hockey India League (HIL), also known as Coal India Hockey India League, is a professional field hockey league in India, founded in 2013 by Hockey India. HIL, with six teams, runs from January to February, featuring playoffs to decide the winner. The most recent champions are Kalinga Lancers (2017). The league returns in 2024.

Indian Soccer League (ISL)

Indian Super League

The Indian Super League (ISL) is India’s top men’s football league, featuring 13 clubs. Running from September to March, it includes a 24-round season followed by playoffs. The top team is awarded the League Winners’ Shield and qualifies for the AFC Champions League. The ISL now follows promotion-only processes, with no relegation.
